2017 SPRING SCHEDULES: BASEBALL | SOFTBALL
The 2017 baseball and softball seasons for the Porterville College Pirates is just under two months away. Both schedules are now available for viewing at www.portervillepirates.com.
Baseball gets going first with its season opener at home on Jan. 27. The Pirates host Lassen Community College on Friday at 1 p.m. to open a three-game series. The two teams return to the field on Saturday for a doubleheader that starts at 10 a.m.
Porterville will play 13 if its first 15 games at home, including its Central Valley Conference opener on March 7 against Merced College. The Pirates open CVC series vs. rivals College of the Sequoias on April 4 and Fresno City College on April 25.
Softball begins one day after baseball as the Pirates open on Jan. 28 with a pair of Saturday afternoon games at Modesto Junior College. Porterville faces Foothill College at 12 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. scheduled game against host Modesto.
Porterville will be on the road for its first six games before hosting De Anza College and Hartnell College on Feb. 17 in its home opener. PC will play De Anza at 10 a.m. that Friday morning and returns to take on Hartnell at 2 p.m. The Pirates open conference play on Feb. 28 when they travel to Cerro Coso College for a 2 p.m.
The Pirates have just 12 home games scheduled for 2017. Porterville will host rival Fresno City in a CVC doubleheader on March 30 and welcomes Sequoias to PC for a single game on April 11.
