Porterville College will be glad to not have to face Reedley College again this season. After an 18-1 loss to the Tigers on Thursday, the two squads wrapped up their three-game Central Valley Conference series with Reedley routing the Pirates 22-0 on Saturday afternoon.
PC totaled just six hits in the contest with David Trotta and Lane Page collecting two hits each.
Reedley (6-12, 3-0 CVC) totaled 21 hits off six Porterville pitchers. Ricky Reyes started and took the loss after allowing seven earned runs and seven hits over 1 1/3 innings.
The Tigers put up four runs in the bottom of the first and blew the game open with a seven-run, second-inning rally.
The loss dropped Porterville to 1-19 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Pirates will look to turn things around on Tuesday (Mar. 12) when they begin a three-game CVC series at home against West Hills College Coalinga. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
