Green totals double-double in loss to Victor Valley

Porterville College sophomore Da'Morea Green posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a narrow 70-69 non-conference loss to visiting Victor Valley College on Friday.

The Pirates couldn't hold a 33-25 halftime lead as Victor Valley outscored Porterville by a 45-36 margin in the second to depart with the win.

PC outshot Victor Valley in the contest, making 29 of 66 shots (44 percent) but was just 4 for 14 from three-point range.

Green shot 7 for 13 on the night on his way to a team-best 15 points. He added 2 assists and a blocked shot to his 12-rebound effort.

Treager Wallace also scored in double figures for the Pirates, putting up 14 points. He posted 5 boards, 3 steals, and 2 assists. Elijah Cardenas chipped in with 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Dominic King added 6 points and 6 assists.

Porterville, now 3-5 overall, returns to action on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. when the Pirates host Hartnell College in a non-conference game.
