FULLERTON – Asad Madassalia came off the bench to score 11 points to lead No. 13 Northern California-ranked Porterville College in a valiant 72-62 loss at Southern California No. 1 Fullerton College on Tuesday night.

The Pirates got off to a quick 7-2 advantage early with both teams exchanging leads throughout the opening period. With the score tied 27-27, Fullerton closed out the half with a 9-2 run to jump ahead 36-29 at the break.

That deficit would prove to be too much to overcome as the Hornets led for the remainder of the contest. Porterville outrebounded Fullerton by a 45-36 margin, but 25 turnovers by the Pirates proved costly.

Cameron Walker totaled 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists for PC. Quincy White score 8 points, and Jalen Foy added 7 points and 4 rebounds.

The loss evened up the Pirates' record at 1-1 while Fullerton improved to 3-0. The Pirates will look to bounce back on Thursday (Nov. 10) when they travel to San Jose City College for a 5:30 p.m. non-conference game.
