Designated hitter Angel Geston went a combined 4-for-5 with 4 RBI and a pair of home runs to lead Porterville College at the plate in a regular-season ending doubleheader sweep of visiting West Hills College Coalinga on Tuesday.

The Pirates finished in fifth place in  the final CVC standings at 10-11 and are 18-19 overall with slim hopes of receiving an at-large berth into the Northern California Regional Playoffs.

Game 1: Porterville 7, West Hills 2
Geston smacked a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning to set the tone for the entire afternoon. The Pirates added single runs in the second and third innings before going ahead 6-1 in the fourth. A RBI double by Chelsea Ramos capped the two-run rally before Geston hit a sac fly in the sixth to bring in Alexis Rodriguez with the game's final run.

Geston went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI in the contest while PC also got three hits from Shantae Gutierrez (3-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI). Emma Poll (2-for-4), Alexis Lafarga (2-for-3), and Raquel Gonzalez (2-for-3) all had two hits each.

Rodriguez went the distance in the circle for the Pirates. She allowed one earned run and five hits with seven strikeouts.

Game 2: Porterville 9, West Hills 0 (5 inn.)
PC ended the regular season early, needing just five innings for the mercy-rule victory. Like Geston in the opener, Ramos got the Pirates going with a home run in the bottom of the first. Her two-run shot was part of a five-run, first for PC as Gonzalez (1 RBI) and J Huerta (2 RBI) drove in runs with doubles.

Geston hit her second home run of the day in the third inning before PC added a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to close out the scoring.

Ashley Eyraud was impressive in the final start as she allowed just one hit over the five-inning complete game.
