Big offensive numbers lead to All-Norcal honors for Ramos, Geston

The postseason honors continue for Porterville College third baseman Chelsea Ramos and designated player Angel Geston. On Saturday, the freshman dynamic duo was named to the All-Northern California team by regional coaches.

Both had impressive seasons in the batter's box for the Pirates and finishes among the state leaders in numerous offensive categories.

Ramos got off to a hot start in her first season with PC and finished as one of the state's best. Ramos led the state with a .630 on base percentage. Her .564 batting average ranked third in the state and was tops in Northern California while her 1.051 slugging percentage was fourth-best state-wide and No. 2 in the region.

She also finished among the state's top 10 in runs (51, t-5th), hits (66, t-3rd), doubles (16, t-9th), and triples (7, t-3rd). Ramos was a tough out and struck out just six times over 138 plate appearances. She also totaled 9 home runs and 50 RBI.

Geston started off slow but heated up as the season progressed. She compiled a .505 batting average (12th best in state) to go along with a .860 slugging percentage. Geston smashed 9 home runs and was among the state's top 10 with 51 RBI (t-9th).

The duo was recently named to the All-Central Valley Conference first team after Porterville closed the regular season with an 18-19 overall record and finished fifth in the CVC at 10-11.
