    Porterville College freshman first baseman Kuea Angilau was named to the All-Northern California team by the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association following an impressive debut season for the Pirates. Angilau also received first-team All-Central Valley Conference honors, one of 10 earned by PC.

    For the first time in over 20 years, Porterville College has qualified for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Northern California Regional Playoffs. On Saturday, the Pirates were named the No. 14 seed for the postseason tournament and will travel to face No. 3 San Joaquin Delta College in a three-game playoff series that is set to begin on Friday, May 3.

    Trailing by a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, freshman Kuea Angilau delivered the walk-off winner, smashing a clutch two-run home run to give the Porterville College Pirates an amazing 4-3 win over visiting West Hills College Coalinga in both teams’ regular-season finale on Thursday in Porterville.

    Porterville College freshman Annisa Gomez continued her hot hitting for the Pirates. On Friday, Gomez smashed a grand slam and totaled 9 RBI to help lead Porterville to a doubleheader sweep of visiting Cerro Coso College. The Pirates needed just five innings to beat the Coyotes 14-1 in the opener and took Game 2 by a final score of 9-3.

    Annisa Gomez’ two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning proved to the game-winner for Porterville College in a narrow 3-2 Central Valley Conference victory at Reedley College on Tuesday. The Pirates earned a split with the Tigers after dropping the opening game of the doubleheader by a final score of 7-4.

    Porterville College continues to climb in the Central Valley Conference standings after a doubleheader sweep of Taft College on Tuesday. The Pirates took the opener by a final score of 7-4 and needed just five innings to rout the Cougars 11-1 in Game 2.

    Porterville College pitchers Alexis Rodriguez and Ashley Eyraud combined to allow just one earned over a pair of games while the Pirates’ offense totaled 24 hits in a doubleheader sweep at Victor Valley College in Victorville on Friday. PC took Game 1 by a score of 11-2 in five innings and was a 9-3 winner in the second game.

    Porterville College freshman Anissa Gomez went 6-for-7 with 6 RBI while Kuea Angilau also went 6-for-7 with a pair of home runs and 4 RBI, and Ashley Rojo drove in 8 runs over a two-game sweep of visiting Cuesta College on Friday. The Pirates won the opener 9-0 in six innings and closed out the day with a 17-1 rout in five innings.

    Porterville College freshman Annissa Gomez smashed a clutch three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Pirates to a 3-0 win over visiting Fresno City College in the opening game of a Central Valley Conference doubleheader on Tuesday. The momentum didn’t carry on as it was the Rams that rallied late in Game 2, beating PC 6-4 to force a split.

    Porterville College freshman Auzia Mosley went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and the Pirates were able to hold off a late Taft College rally to hang on for a 6-5 win on the road in both teams’ Central Valley Conference opener on Thursday.

    A two-day trip to the Monterey Bay started well for Porterville but ended on Saturday with a pair of losses to Cabrillo College. The Pirates were swept in a non-conference doubleheader, falling by scores of 9-3 and 9-4 at the Cal State Monterey Bay Softball Field in Seaside.

Game 2 of the doubleheader didn’t go the same way, as the Pirates lost 9-1 in five innings to close their day in the Bay Area.
