Pirates drop conference match at No. 15 Fresno City

Offense was hard to come by for the Porterville College women's volleyball team as the Pirates suffered a 3-0 sweep at No. 15 state-ranked Fresno City College on Friday. The Central Valley Conference loss dropped Porterville to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the CVC.

The Pirates were only able to connect for 7 kills on 42 attempts in the 25-8, 25-12, 25-10 loss to the Rams. Sophomore Madysen Clower once again led the offense with 4 kills while Emily Baeza added 2 kills.

Derica Ferris had 9 digs and an ace. Daisy Duran chipped in with 6 digs and a kill.

The Pirates will look to get back on track on Wednesday (Sept. 19) when they will face Cerro Coso College in their home opener. Fans are invited to join the Sea of Red. Anyone wearing red will be admitted into the match free. Match time is set for 5 p.m. at PC.
