The 2022 Porterville College women's volleyball season officially gets underway on August 26 when the Pirates travel to Modesto Junior College for the Big 8 Conference-Central Valley Conference Challenge. The PC Athletic Department released the entire 26-match season schedule on Tuesday.
Head coach Pete Rasmussen returns for his fifth season leading the Pirates this fall. His quad will play its first nine matches on the road, also competing at quad events at Modesto, Napa Valley, and Mendocino colleges early on.
A September 13 contest at Monterey Peninsula College precedes the Pirates' Central Valley Conference opener on Friday, Sep. 16 at West Hills College Coalinga.
PC finally makes its home debut on Sep. 21 when the Pirates host Columbia College in a 5 p.m. conference match. Porterville is scheduled to play 10 matches on its home court this season.
New this season, Porterville will host the Pirate Bounty Quad on October 8. PC will take on Cuesta College at 12 p.m., followed by Cuesta vs. Cerro Coso College at 2 p.m. The day wraps up with Porterville facing Cerro Coso at 4 p.m.
Following the non-conference event, Porterville returns to CVC play with 10 matches to close out the regular season including the finale on November 11 at home against Taft College at 6 p.m.
