Porterville College third baseman Chelsea Ramos is off to an amazing start for the Pirates softball team. In a doubleheader sweep at home over Gavilan College on Feb. 9, Ramos led the way going a combined 6 for 7 with a pair of home runs, a triple, and a double. She totaled 9 RBI, scored seven runs and also stole four bases. On defense, she played a perfect hot corner, going 5 for 5 in fielding opportunities.

For her efforts, she was named the Week 2 California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association State Player of the Week. Ramos is originally out of Monache High School in Porterville.
