Pirates have three sign with Kansas Christian College

PORTERVILLE – A trio of Porterville College Pirates are taking their talents to the Midwest this fall.

On Tuesday, two-sport standout Jenna Holder (basketball/softball), softball pitcher Ally Boyd, and basketball guard Jazlynne Medrano all signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Kansas Christian College.

The three student-athletes made their decisions official at a signing ceremony on campus among coaches, teammates, and family.

Holder is set to compete in both basketball and softball for the Kansas Christian Falcons. She was a second-team All-Central Valley Conference selection at the guard position, averaging 8.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the Pirates this past season (2022-23). In softball, the catcher hit .211 over 38 at bats with 6 RBI and 5 stolen bases.

Boyd, PC's primary pitcher this past spring, earned second-team All-CVC honors. She appeared in 31 games, compiling an 11-18 overall record with a 3.90 earned run average. She also hit well, batting .358 on the season with 5 home runs and 35 RBI.

Medrano put up big numbers on the basketball floor for the Pirates on her way to being named first-team All-Central Valley Conference. She ended her sophomore season averaging 19. 8 points per game, ranking second in the conference. Medrano added 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Kansas Christian College in located in Overland Park, Kan. and competes as a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
