Angilau named All-NorCal, Pirates earn 10 CVC postseason honors

Porterville College freshman first baseman Kuea Angilau was named to the All-Northern California team by the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association following an impressive debut season for the Pirates. Angilau also received first-team All-Central Valley Conference honors, one of 10 earned by PC.

Angilau recently closed out year batting .468 with 13 home runs and 46 RBI. Her 13 homers were tied for third-most in the state at the end of the regular season. Angilau totaled 51 hits, scored 32 runs, and walked 31 times. Her .592 on base percentage ranks fifth in the state while her .927 slugging percentage tied for eighth-best.

Joining Angilau on the CVC first team was freshman third baseman Anissa Gomez and sophomore shortstop Shantae Gutierrez. Second-team honors went to sophomore pitcher Alexis Rodriguez.

Being named honorable mention were sophomores Ashley Eyraud, Ashley Rojo, Chelsea Ramos, and Raquel Gonzalez as well as freshmen Sayra Sanchez, and Auzia Mosley.

Porterville recently wrapped up the season with a 24-17 overall. PC made its first postseason appearance in over 20 years and as the No. 14 seed in the Northern California playoffs, pushed No. 3 San Joaquin Delta in a pair of losses (3-2, 5-1). The Pirates finished fourth in the Central Valley Conference at 12-9.
