Four of Porterville College's five starters scored in double figures, but unfortunately, the Pirates had no reserves and suffered a 76-66 Central Valley Conference loss at Taft College on Saturday.

With just two games left to play, PC is 2-21 overall and 0-10 in conference play.

Despite a lack of players, the Pirates didn't lack heart. Porterville trailed 30-27 at halftime before Taft was able to pull away late for the win.

Kathy Rodriguez posted a double-double to lead PC with 18 points to go with 10 rebounds. Maria Lopez also earned a double-double with 14 points and a team-best 12 boards. Sayla Arguelles scored 17 points while Sierra Perez added 15 points. Kassy Cervates chipped in with six assists.

Porterville plays at College of the Sequoias on Wednesday (Feb. 14) at 5 p.m. and closes out the season next Saturday (Feb. 17) at home vs. Reedley College at 3 p.m.
