Pirates take home opener 62-56 over Mission

PORTERVILLE – Freshman Jo Cibrian came off the bench to score a game-high 25 points and help lead the Porterville College women's basketball team to its first win, a 62-56 victory over visiting Mission College in the Pirates' home opener on Saturday.

With the win, Porterville improved to 1-3 overall early in the season.

With the scored tied 43-43 after three quarters, PC went on to outscore the Saints 19-13 over the fourth to pull out the win.

Gracie Magana totaled 16 points and 5 rebounds while Davina Lopez posted a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds to play huge roles in the game.

The Pirates are back in action on Monday (Nov. 13) when they host Feather River College in a non-conference game.
