Porterville Women's Volleyball falls in three at Merced

Sophomore Kendyl Estes totaled team-highs of seven kills and nine digs in a 3-0 Porterville College loss at Merced College on Wednesday night. PC dropped the match by scores of 25-16, 26-24, and 25-16 to fall to 4-8 overall and 1-2 in Central Valley Conference play.

It was a rough night offensively for the Pirates as they totaled just 14 kills and compiled a .109 hitting percentage for the match.

Heidy Benitez totaled eight digs for the Pirates, Shelby Vanasen chipped in with seven digs, three kills and a pair of aces while Brandy Rico had 11 assists and two aces.

Merced improved to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in conference as Rachel Kaler led the Blue Devils with 11 kills.

Porterville returns to the court on Friday (Sept. 23) at 6 p.m. when the Pirates travel to Columbia College for a CVC match.
