Porterville College Volleyball sweeps past Reedley

Sophomore setter Brandy Rico led an impressive Porterville College offensive attack as the Pirates cruised to a 25-12, 25-20, 25-21 victory at Reedley College on Wednesday night. The Central Valley Conference sweep improved PC to 7-10 overall and evened its conference record at 4-4.

The Pirates hit .312 for the match as Rico totaled 28 assists. She also added four digs, two aces, two kills, and a block for an all-around good night.

Sophomore Kendyl Estes one again led Porterville with 15 kills as she had a .423 hitting percentage. Sophomore Shelby Vanasen chipped in with seven kills while sophomore Callie Albison added seven digs and a pair of aces.

The loss dropped Reedley to 3-10 overall and 3-6 in the CVC. Sarah Milliser led the Tigers with eight kills.

Porterville returns to action on Friday (Oct. 14) as the Pirates will finally hit their designated home court for the first time this season. PC will host its home opener at 6 p.m. against rival College of the Sequoias at Porterville High School. The match will mark the first of eight straight home contests to close out the regular season.
