Miller signs letter of intent to continue career at Presentation College

Porterville College sophomore libero Ashlynn Miller has signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Presentation College of South Dakota. Miller was joined by her family, teammates, and coaching staff at a signing ceremony on campus on Tuesday.

Miller, originally out of Porterville High School, recently wrapped up her second season as a member of the Pirates volleyball team in the fall and led PC with 287 digs and a 3.59 digs per set average. Her digs total ranked 11th in the Central Valley Conference while her digs average was 10th among conference leaders.

Her finest match of the season came in the narrow five-set loss at Columbia College when she totaled a career-high 39 digs. Miller followed that with a 20-dig effort against Taft College a week later.

Miller is the first of three sophomores on first-year head coach Pete Rasmussen's squad to move on to the next level.

She will take her talents to Aberdeen, South Dakota to attend Presentation. The Saints compete at the NAIA level and are a member of the North Star Athletic Association. Under 10th-year head coach Chelsea Albrecht, Presentation compiled a 20-13 overall record and reached the semifinals of the NSAA Tournament this past fall. The 20 wins set a new a school record.
