Porterville Pirate Student-Athletes
At Porterville College, our student-athletes put academics first. Our state governing body, the CCCAA, holds athletes to a high standard for eligibility.
- Each student-athlete must be actively enrolled and attending 12 units during their season of competition. 9 of those units must be academic (applying to degree, transfer, remediation, matriculation, etc)
- Each student-athlete must pass at least 6 units in every semester in which they are enrolled full-time.
- To be eligible for a 2nd year of competition, each student-athlete must pass a total of 24 units, 18 of which must be academic.
- Student-athletes must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
With the support of faculty, staff and administration, we strive to be one of the highest-achieveing academic cohorts on this campus.
