Get ready for another exciting season of Porterville College Athletics, the Pirates' 2016 fall and winter sports schedules are now posted online for viewing. The Pirates will once again be competing for Central Valley Conference titles as well as California Community College Athletic Association state championships in women's volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball.

Women's Volleyball kicks off the fall season at PC on August 26 when the Pirates travel to Sacramento for the American River College tournament. Porterville opens Central Valley Conference play on September 14 at rival College of the Sequoias.

The Pirates will play their first 13 matches on the road, including a Sept. 30 contest at Fresno City College, before coming home to host Sequoias on October 14 at 6 p.m. Porterville will play its final eight matches of the regular season at home. Highlights include a November 2 home match against Fresno City and the Pirates' regular-season finale on Nov. 11 against Reedley.

PC Men's Basketball will also be on the road to open the 2016-17, competing at five tournaments before beginning CVC action. The Pirates will compete at the season-opening San Jose City College tournament, starting on November 3.  Porterville will play at tournaments at Victor Valley, Bakersfield, Skyline, and Compton before its conference opener on January 4 at West Hill Coalinga College. PC makes its home debut on January 7, hosting Reedley College at 5 p.m.

The Women's Basketball squad will play a similar schedule like the men, as the Pirates will be on the road for six tournaments to begin the season. The women get going on Nov. 11 at the Merced College tournament before making tournament stops at Barstow, Sequoias, Fresno, West Los Angeles, and DeAnza colleges.

PC begins conference play on Jan. 4 at West Hills Lemoore College, followed by its home opener on Jan. 7 against Reedley at 7 p.m.

Rival games for both the men and women include Jan. 14 at Sequoias, Jan. 21 at Fresno City, and home games against COS on February 8, and FCC on Feb. 15. Porterville closes the regular season at Merced College on Feb. 18. PC men's games are scheduled for 5 p.m., followed by the women at 7 p.m.
