Pirates Celebrate 2023-24 Season at 14th Annual Awards Banquet
It was a great evening to celebrate another successful Porterville College Athletics season. On Wednesday, the Pirates honored their standouts on the field and in the classroom from the 2023-24 sports season at the 14th annual Academic and Athletic Achievement Awards. The event was held at the PC Student Center on campus.
2023-24 Award Winners:
Freshmen of the Year: First-year student-athlete, demonstrated excellence in his or her sport
Jonah Ward – Baseball
Abigail Hines – Women's Volleyball
David Parra – Men's Cross Country/Track & Field
Ciarra Foakes – Softball
Sophomores of the Year: Second-year student-athlete, must have competed two years at PC, demonstrated excellence in his or her sport
Davina Lopez – Women's Volleyball/Basketball
Cade Fujii – Baseball
Pirates of the Year: Student-Athlete that demonstrates a "team-first" attitude, shows heart, spirit and dedication to his or her teammates and coaches
Braden Parmley – Baseball
Gracie Magana – Women's Basketball
Tyler Curry Sportsmanship Award: Student-Athlete who consistently displays outstanding behavior and conducted themselves with a high degree of character and good sportsmanship
Selina Mora – Women's Basketball
Kaleb Salazar – Men's Basketball
Monea Posadas – Softball
Tiffanee Anderson Most Inspirational Award: Eligible Student-Athlete (1st or 2nd year) who has overcome personal odds/adversity and is an inspirational and valuable member of his or her team

Kathie Gifford Special Recognition Award: Individual from campus who demonstrates interest, support and/significant contribution to PC Athletics

The athletic department also honored its numerous student-athletes that were named to the President's Honors List as well as those that earned Dean's List honors.
