Pirates drop three-game series to Mt. San Jacinto

PORTERVILLE --- It was a tough two days for the Porterville College baseball team. Hosting Mt. San Jacinto College in a three-game non-conference series, the Pirates couldn't get much going offensively and suffered a sweep.

Porterville totaled five hits in Friday's doubleheader opener. J.T. Edmonds (2 for 3, BB) and C.J. Fish (2 for 4) both had two hits each to lead PC at the plate.

Jesus Cabanyog put together the best outing of the weekend on the mound for the Pirates. He tossed a pair of perfect innings and struck out two.

Porterville fell to 1-5 overall this season. The Pirates return to action on Tuesday (Feb. 8) when they host Modesto Junior College in a 1:30 p.m. non-conference game.
