Portervlle College took two out of three games to capture a Central Valley Conference series victory against Coalinga College.
On Saturday, Rafael Jimenez singled to drive in Tyson Tellez (3 for 3 with 2 runs scored), in the bottom of the ninth inning, to give the Pirates a 6-5 victory in game three of the series. The offense was led by Tellez, Jordan Walkup who was 2 for 5 at the plate with two RBI, Jimmy Martinez who was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored and Jimenez who was 1 for 1 with an RBI. Gio Chavez and Luis Alcantar also picked up RBI for Porterville. Jonah Ward picked up the win in relief, improving to 2-4 on the season.

On Thursday, in game that featured thirty-three runs on thirty hits, the Pirates fell short 17-16. Jimmy Martinez (4 for 6 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored), Jonathan Delgado ( 2 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBI and one run scored), Gio Chavez ( 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and a run scored), Colton Isom ( 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and one scored), and Jayson Castillo (1 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored) all had good days at the plate. The Pirates had to use four pitchers with Nick Torres picking up the loss.
In game one on Tuesday, Porterville held Coalinga scoreless until the eighth inning. Jonah Ward threw seven scoreless innings, giving up no runs on three hits, to get the win. Jayson Castillo led the Pirates at the plate going 3 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Tyler Stansberry was 2 for 4 with two RBI and one run scored, Colton Isom was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and Hank Allred was 3 for 5 with an RBI and two runs scored all had big contributions for PC.
Porterville will play a double-header at Antelope Valley on Tuesday, March 18th before returning home on March 20th to host Antelope Valley at 2:00 PM
