The Porterville College baseball team was swept by Reedley College in a three-game Central Valley Conference series.
In Game 1 on Tuesday, the Tigers defeated PC 7-2. Gio Chavez went 1 for 3 at the plate with 2 RBI and Tyson Tellez went 1 for 4 with a run scored.
The Pirates were held to five hits in a 19-0 defeat at Reedley on Thursday. Jimmy Martinez went 3 for 4 while Jordan Walkup and Jonathan Delgado picked up the other hits for Porterville.
In the final game of the series, the Pirates dropped a 2-1 decision at home on Saturday in a hard-fought game. Gio Chavez led the Pirate offense, going 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI. Colton Isom pitched eight strong innings giving up two runs on five hits while striking out six Tigers. Nicholas Torres pitched a scoreless ninth inning, giving up no runs and no hits while striking out one.
