Second-half rally lifts Porterville to 74-54 win at Cañada

REDWOOD CITY – Jake Abrams came off the bench to score a game-high 18 points to help lead Porterville College to a 74-54 come-from-behind win at Cañada College on Wednesday.

The two squads battled in the first half with Cañada taking a one-point (37-36) lead into the break. But the Pirates outscored the Colts 38-17 over the final 20 minutes of the contest to cruise to victory.

Abrams shot 6 for 9 from three-point range on his way to his 18 points. Jalen Foy scored 10 points, Demir Conliffe added 9 points, while Assad Mdassalia contributed 8 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.

The win closed out the 2022 calendar year and non-conference schedule for the Pirates with a 6-8 overall record. PC will take some time off for the holiday before returning to action on Jan. 4. The Pirates are set to host West Hills College Lemoore in their Central Valley Conference opener ta 7 p.m.
