REEDLEY – Akeives Shorts scored 18 points while DeMarcus Allen added 17 points to help lead the Porterville College men's basketball team to a 73-63 win at Reedley College on Saturday.

The Pirates put an end to their six-game losing streak. With the Central Valley Conference victory, Porterville improved to 7-13 overall and 1-5 in the CVC.

PC led 34-24 at halftime and was able to hold off the Tigers over the final 20 minutes.

Owen Patterson contributed a double-double to the win with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Amari Thomas also scored 15 points.

Porterville returns to conference action on Wednesday (Jan. 31) when the Pirates host West Hills College Coalinga in a 5 p.m. game.
