Ramos 6 for 7, 2 HR, 9 RBI leads to State Player of the Week honors

GLENDORA, Calif. - The California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association is pleased to announce it's Week #2 State Player and Pitcher of the Week. Porterville College freshman third baseman Chelsea Ramos and San Jose City College freshman pitcher Stefanie Troja earned the honors.

Player of the Week - Chelsea Ramos - Porterville College
Freshman third baseman Chelsea Ramos had a day in a double-header with Gavilan College. Ramos went a combined 6-for-7 with a pair of home runs, a triple, and a double. She drove in nine RBI's, and scored seven runs on the day. She also stole four bases, and played a perfect hot corner, going 5-for-5 in fielding opportunities. The freshman prepped at nearby Monache High School and hails from Porterville, CA.

Pitcher of the Week - Stefanie Troja - San Jose City College
Troja had a great week for the Jaguars in the circle and in the batter's box. Troja started out the week earning the win over NorCal #9 San Joaquin Delta College. In that game Troja went five strong, scattering five hits and a run over her time in the circle, while fanning seven batters and giving up just one walk. She did her part at the plate in the game as well, hitting one of her two home runs on the week. After getting the win against Delta on Thursday, she turned around and picked up another solid victory over Santa Rosa Junior College. Against the Bearcats, Troja pitched a complete game, giving up two runs (one earned), and striking out three. She also went 3-for-3 at the plate. Troja, a lefty, prepped at Vista de Lago High School and hails from Folsom, CA.
