Freshman third baseman Chelsea Ramos went a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate and drove in two runs, but Porterville College couldn't overcome a pair of four-run rallies while committing seven errors and suffered a 10-4 loss to visiting Fresno City College on Thursday.

The Central Valley Conference defeat dropped PC to 10-2 overall and evened its conference mark at 2-2.

Ramos continues to swing a hot bat and had three of the Pirates' seven hits in the contest. Her two-run triple in the bottom of the second inning tied up the game at 4-4.

But from that point it was all Fresno City. The Rams blew the game open with four runs in the fourth and scored once in the sixth and seventh innings.

Ashley Eyraud took the loss after allowing eight runs (just two earned) and six hits over 3 ⅔ innings.

Porterville will look to snap its two-game losing streak on Tuesday (March 13) when the Pirates host Reedley College in a CVC doubleheader that starts at 1 p.m.
