Softball: Pirates drop doubleheader at San Jose City

Porterville College's slide continued on Saturday as the Pirates suffered a pair of losses in a doubleheader at San Jose City College. PC opened with a 5-1 loss and waas edged 2-0 to close out the day.

After winning its first 10 games, Porterville has now lost seven straight and look to snap that streak on Sunday when the Pirates face Ohlone College in a doubleheader in Fremont.

Game 1: San Jose City 5, Porterville 1
Chelsea Ramos went 2 for 2 while smashing a solo home run and a double in PC's morning loss at SJCC. But San Jose pitcher Madisyn Gutierrez-Urban held the Pirates to just three hits in the contest.

Ashley Eyraud took the loss in the complete-game effort. She allowed three earned runs and seven hits over six innings.

Game 2: San Jose City 2, Porterville 0
A frustrating day at the plate continued for the Pirates as they managed just one hit off San Jose pitcher Stefanie Troja. Racquel Gonzalez had the lone single for PC as Ramos was held hitless for just the second time this season.

Alexis Rodriguez pitched well in the loss, allowing one earned run and six hits over six innings.
