Angilau signs National Letter of Intent with Texas A&M Commerce

Porterville College softball standout Kuea Angilau has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University – Commerce. The sophomore originally out of Salt Lake City, Utah made it official today at a signing ceremony along with her coaches at PC.

Angilau made a huge impact on the Pirates as a freshman in 2019, earning All-Northern California honors as well as first-team All-Central Valley Conference accolades.

She closed out year batting .468 with 13 home runs and 46 RBI. Her 13 homers were tied for third-most in the state at the end of the regular season. Angilau totaled 51 hits, scored 32 runs, and walked 31 times. Her .592 on base percentage ranked fifth in the state while her .927 slugging percentage tied for eighth-best.

Her sophomore season has gotten off to an excellent start. In just six games, she's already slugged 3 home runs and totaled 9 RBI. She's compiled a .375 batting average, a .444 on base percentage, and is slugging 1.000. 

Texas A&M Commerce, located a little over 60 miles north east of Dallas, competes at the NCAA Division II level and is a member of the Lone Star Conference. The Lions are led by head coach Richie Bruister. Texas A&M Commerce is off to a great start at 4-1 and is currently ranked No. 10 nationally.
