Pirates have 8 earn All-CVC postseason softball honors

Following the close of the 2023 Porterville College softball season, a total of eight Pirates were named to the All-Central Valley Conference postseason team.

Heading the list is freshman Jennilu Martinez. The Lindsay native was a first-team All-CVC selection at third base. She led PC with a .364 batting average and totaled 36 hits, 26 runs, 9 doubles, 2 home runs, and 25 RBI. Over 110 plate appearance, Martinez struck out just three times. She was the lone Pirate to be named to the first team.

Second-team honors went to sophomore Ally Boyd (Pitcher), sophomore Cassie Cannon (Infield), freshman Taylor Norman (Outfield), and freshman Arieana Castillo (Designated Player).

Named honorable mention (pictured below, left-right) were sophomores Maddy Pierce (Utility), Hailee Smutz (Infield), and Cienna Enriquez (First Base).



The Pirates wrapped up the season with a 16-21 overall record under head coach Vickie Dugan and finished fourth in the final conference standings with a 5-10 mark.
