Kissick, Sanchez head list of four All-CVC honors
Following the close of the 2019 Porterville College women’s volleyball season, four Pirates were named to the All-Central Valley Conference team at the postseason coaches meeting.
Following the close of the 2019 Porterville College women's volleyball season, four Pirates were named to the All-Central Valley Conference team at the postseason coaches meeting. Leading the way were first-team honoree Emily Kissick and second-team pick Jocelyn Sanchez while Kuea Angilau and Karissa Jones were honorable mention selections.
Kissick, a freshman outside hitter from Strathmore, led PC with 222 total kills and a 2.55 kills per set average. Both figures ranked No. 10 in the conference. She was also second on the squad with 172 digs and totaled 21 blocks.
Sanchez, a freshman opposite side hitter from Woodlake, slammed home 108 kills and averaged 1.30 per set. She was second on the Pirates with 44 total blocks.
Angilau, a freshman middle blocker out of Salt Lake City, led Porterville with 57 blocks and had 120 kills. Her 57 blocks ranked fourth in the CVC. Jones, a freshman defensive specialist from Delano, led the Pirates with 261 digs and served up 14 aces. Her 261 digs ranked 11th in the conference.
Porterville ended the season with a 12-15 overall record and went 6-10 in conference play to finish in sixth place in the highly-competitive CVC.
