Pirates earn second straight sweep in win over Columbia
PORTERVILLE – The Porterville College women's volleyball team rolled to its second consecutive sweep, this team defeating visiting Columbia College 3-0 at home on Friday.
The Pirates took the Central Valley Conference match by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-12. PC has won three of its last four matches to improve to 6-9 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Noelani Espiritu once again paced the Pirates' offense. She tallied a match-high 16 kills while adding 9 assists, 5 aces, and a pair of digs.
Morgan Mattos contributed 9 kills on just 14 attempts (.500 kill percentage), and Aliza Bun totaled 7 kills, 10 digs, and a match-leading 8 aces.
Brandi Flores led PC with 12 digs to go with 3 aces and Jolina Castaneda totaled 17 assists and 9 digs.
Porterville is back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 9) when the Pirates travel to No. 3 state-ranked Fresno City College for a Central Valley Conference match.
