    It was another tough week for the Porterville College women’s volleyball team. Coming off a thrilling five-set victory over West Hills College Lemoore on Oct. 12, the Pirates had a much more difficult time last week and suffered consecutive Central Valley Conference losses to Fresno City College and College of the Sequoias.

    A rough week for the Porterville College women’s volleyball team saw the Pirates suffer a pair of three-set losses. On Wednesday, Porterville fell on the road at Taft College while on Friday, PC lost at home to visiting College of the Sequoias.

    Offense was hard to come by for the Porterville College women’s volleyball team as the Pirates suffered a 3-0 sweep at No. 15 state-ranked Fresno City College on Friday. The Central Valley Conference loss dropped Porterville to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the CVC.

    Porterville College sophomore Madysen Clower totaled a match-high 9 kills to help lead the Pirates to a 3-0 sweep at West Hills College Lemoore in both teams’ Central Valley Conference opener on Wednesday.

    The Porterville College women’s volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over host Mendocino College on Saturday and nearly came home with another win but fell in five sets to Lassen College as part of the Mendocino Invitational.
  • Pirates open season with 3-1 win over DVC, split matches at Hartnell

    Freshman Juliet Garcia totaled a match-high 13 kills to help lead off the 2018 Porterville College women’s volleyball season with a win as the Pirates beat Diablo Valley College 3-1 in both teams’ season opener at the Hartnell College Classic in Salinas. PC went on to split its matches on opening day after falling to the host Hartnell Panthers 3-0 that afternoon.
